Three Go-To Looks for Running Errands I’m often asked by readers how to look put-together and polished for casual weekend settings such as running errands. Today, I’ll highlight three go-to looks for running errands and tips for substituting pieces that fit your lifestyle. Let’s get started. Some may call this athleisure but many of these items are not athleisure items. To look more polished, I’m still opting for denim jeans and well-fitted tops. For athleisure, head over to read what to wear while flying- aka airplane outfits! Note: This post may contain affiliate links; full disclosures HERE. Shop the Post (click image): Outfit for Running Errands #1 This first outfit features the most athleisure-type top. This twist-front top is made of a breathable fabric by Zella (exclusive brand of Nordstrom). It’s a little looser fit and very flattering on many body types. For this outfit, I opted to pair this top with white denim jeans and slip-on sneakers. I think slip-on style sneakers automatically demonstrate that this outfit is not a “workout” or “fitness” outfit because these are definitely not designed for jogging/running! Yes, they are comfortable sneakers and can be worn for walking long distances but really are stylish than fitness functional. Style Tip: Substitute white denim jeans for your favorite athleisure leggings. Change it up a bit with a colored legging such as these burgundy ones. Gemi Size 35 (exact or similar for less) Necklace: Nordstrom (similar) Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o (exact) Outfit for Running Errands #2 This second outfit features a casual long hemline tee. This tee is fitted yet feels loose with the drapey hemline. I’m wearing one from J. Crew Factory but there are many similar tops I recommend in this style. For those who prefer a color over neutrals, I picked out a blush pink for spring! I paired this top with dark wash denim and stylish sneakers in rose gold. In comparison to slip-on sneakers, these Nike sneakers are also functional and can be worn for jogging/running purposes. The color choices were intentional because the neutral gray tones will coordinate with many outfits and the rose gold elevates the look of these sneakers from your “gym” sneakers to gym-to-play sneaker design. Style Tip: When searching for sneakers that will function for fitness AND casual settings, opt for neutrals such as gray, lower cut ankles and smaller soles so they are not too bulky looking with casual outfits. Crew Factory XXS (exact or similar) Pant: Jeans Paige 23 (exact) Shoes: Nike Size 6 (exact or similar for less) Necklace: Nordstrom (similar) Watch: Daniel Wellington c/o (exact) Sunglasses: Tory Burch (exact– on sale) Outfits for Running Errands #3 This third outfit features a fitted twist-front top. This top differs from the Zella top because of the fabric and fit. I paired this top with distressed denim jeans for a casual on-the-go look. I also opted for my versatile tote bag to fill up on Farmer’s Market finds and more. I’m wearing ankle booties in this look but you can easily substitute ballet flats, loafers or sandals for warmer weather. Style Tip: Add in a medium-sized statement necklace to elevate this outfit further. You can easily run errands before heading to brunch with friends!
