|New York Fashion Week Day 6 + 7|
|Thrifts and Threads|
I can't believe NYFW is already over! This Fashion Week came and went so fast, I'm already prepping for Paris. I had such a great time in New York and was so inspired by so many collections. Some of my favorite shows this season included: Creatures of Comfort, Zimmermann, Sally LaPointe and Alice + Olivia. If you haven't already, be sure to check out my posts on day one, day two, day three + four and day 5. Sally LaPointe Show My first show of the day was Sally LaPointe. I'm a huge fan of her designs because her pieces are glamorous with street smart edge. Everything is always so chic but never overdone. The collection shown this year was very sleek and modern, filled with knits and signature basics. I loved the fringe skirts and metallic material. So many pieces shimmered down the runway- that had the perfect amount of edge! Some of my favorite pieces from the current collection are: – Rib-Knit Wool And Cashmere Sweater – Tassel Jacquard Blouse – Silk Double Georgette Corset Skirt Claudia Li Presentation Next up, was the Claudia Li presentation. The presentation format was really cool! Each model had thier own cubical where they modeled the clothes. The space was all white, so the brightly colored clothes really stood out. Yellow, blue and red were the main pops of color. I loved the feminine vibes of the collection. Below are a few pieces I'm currently loving: – Some Guy's Sweatshirt – Big Jeans – Oversized Denim Jacket Alice + Olivia Presentation Alice + Olivia is one of my favorite brands! The inspiration for the collection was as if the Chelsea Hotel existed today. The models each posed in different “rooms” that were all decorated differently. I loved how the rooms were very well thought out to match the clothing designs. The silk palm print clothing that matched the bathroom was SO cute! The collection itself was romantic but had a rock ‘n' roll vibe. Check out a few pieces from the current collection I love: – Coley Bell Sleeve Dress – Faux Fur Coat – Haylen Top with Fur Cuffs What I Wore I've been really into wide leg pants lately, so I thought these Alice + Olivia pants were perfect for the presentation. To add a pop of color and texture to the look, I paired it with this fun velvet blazer. I had so much fun meeting those of you who came and chatting over some matcha! I'll be planning one soon in LA so stay tuned for the details for that on Insta Story soon :) BCBGMAXAZRIA Presentation My final presentation of day 5 was BCBGMAXAZRIA. BCBG is known for their dresses, gowns and contemporary clothing. BCBG stands for a French phrase meaning “good style, good attitude.” The collection had more neutral colors with small embroidery details. I loved the usage of sheer fabrics and pops of red. My current favorite pieces include: – Kourtney Color-Blocked Top – Juliette Lace Handkerchief Dress – Haydin Cold-Shoulder Top Marchesa Show My final runway show of NYFW was Marchesa. One of my favorite beauty brands, Kevyn Aucoin did my makeup for the show. I'm obsessed with their Sensual Skin Primer! The show was filled with gorgeous gowns, kimono sleeves and golden leaf embroidery. The collection was inspired by Aimée Crocker, who was an explorer and the line took inspo from her travels to Japan. The corset belts and small bows were some of my favorite details. Below are a few of my favorite dresses available now: – Notte Floral Dress – Notte Embroidered Cocktail Dress – Tiered Floral-Print Silk-Organza Gown What I Wore Inspired by the tulle fabric Marchesa uses, I wore this sheer dress with a bodysuit and skirt to the show. I dressed down the look with some chunky boots to make it more casual but still chic. I had the same great driver all week and got around NY so easily. The car was super comfortable with gorgeous interior, a sunroof and backseat seat warmers (which was perfect for me because I'm always cold lol) :) Thank you so much to Lexus for making my Fashion week a breeze when it came to the car situation. What were some of your favorite collections? Comment below :) xx Brittany The post New York Fashion Week Day 6 + 7 appeared first on .
